Please Join Us to Welcome Arun Kundnani who will read from and sign The Muslims Are Coming: Islamophobia, Extremism and the Domestic War on Terror.
In a narrative spanning the United States and the United Kingdom, The Muslims Are Coming examines the activities of hate groups which have re-aligned themselves with former enemies and of the law enforcement agencies both of which now target muslims (immigrants and native born) in Europe and the United States. Kundnani deconstructs the flawed nature of the 'theories of radicalization' and the junk-science on which anti-terrorism strategies and programs on both sides of the Atlantic now rely. His book connects the dots on the racist process of othering which underly the current rise of fascism experienced in this country. It is essential reading for understanding the current political climate and forging a path forward to a democratic and plural future for this country. Born and educated in London, Kundnani is currently a scholar-in-residence at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, New York Public Library.
