As Secretary of Technology for the State of Virginia, Chopra created the Productivity Investment Fund, which rapidly develops twenty-first-century, collaborative solutions for tough problems, like literacy and infant mortality.
As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Chopra sought to honor President Obama’s mandate for a more open and transparent government. Chopra was the first to hold this major position, created by the Obama administration after it was used successfully in states such as Virginia. Chopra served in the White House for three years, tackling a wide variety of problems, from veterans’ benefits to health care to job creation.
