Talk: “Seeing the Living Photos of Sri Ramakrishna”
with Swami Harinamanandaji
11am to 12:30 pm in the Chapel
Potluck Lunch immediately following in the Fellowship Hall.

There are three actual photographs of Sri Ramakrishna, when he was alive. During 1800, there was no camera phones to snap pictures with. It used to take quite a lot of effort with film and lighting and setup to take a photograph. Only one of the three photos of Thakur were studio pictures. The other two show him in samadhi and standing up (supported) trance. This talk by Swami Harinamananda beautifully describes the story behind these photographs and their spiritual meaning.

Swami Harinamananda-ji is a monk of the Ramakrishna Order and currently serves as the resident minister of the Vedanta Society of Southern California at the San Diego monastery.

June 3, 7pm, Jerry's Jam Music Concert in the Fellowship Hall
Featuring Jerry Brunner and friends.
Doors open at 7:00; music starts at 7:30pm.
Jerry says: So come hang out with us, relax and enjoy some noteworthy music performed by Jerry Brunner, Cyndi Craven, Bruce Gilbert and Ron Hipp! Music in good taste!

Weekend Retreat Workshop: The Enneagram
with Jill Ulrici
Note: The book The Wisdom of the Enneagram by Don Hudson and Richard Russo is recommended,  not required.
The Enneagram is a system of identifying and understanding basic personality types. But more than that, it is a tool for spiritual growth. The purpose of this study is described well in a quote from the book The Wisdom of the Enneagram by Richard Riso and Don Hudson as follows: "The aim of the Work is to stop the automatic reactions of the personality by bringing awareness to it. Only by bringing insight and clarity to the mechanisms of the personality can we awaken... The more we see the mechanical reactions of our personality, the less identified with them we become and the more freedom we have."

The Enneagram is is a deep and broad subject. During this workshop we will cover a brief overview of the nine types. You are welcome to attend if you are learning about if for the first time or have studied it for years, if you know your type or don't. If you would like to take a test to determine your type there are many available on the internet or in books. One that I would recommend that is simple and free can be found at 9types.com ( select the "test" option).

OTHER DETAILS:
Lunch: Your Center will provide tea, coffee and snacks but please bring your own lunch for the noon break on Saturday.
Cost: There is no charge for the workshop, but we encourage you to make a free-will donation if you are able.
RSVP: Please RSVP as soon as possible so that we'll know how many folks we need to plan for. CLICK HERE TO RSVP for one or or both days. Thank you!
