gather to honor life of Mr. Patel, died in ICE detention.
Atul Kumar Babubhai Patel, a 58 year old diabetic, was in ICE custody at the Atlanta City Detention Center when he tragically passed away in early May.
In the last year alone, there have been 10 known deaths of people in ICE custody.
We will gather to honor the life of Mr. Patel as well as to call for the permanent closure of the Atlanta City Detention Center.
Please join us for a candlelight vigil and speak out in front of the Atlanta City Detention Center on the evening of Thursday, July 6th.
This event is endorsed by the following groups: A World Without Police, Street Groomers, General Defense Committee, Atlanta Black Cross, Georgie Detention Watch, Standing Up for Racial Justice (SIRJ), Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI), Solutions Not Punishment Coalition (SnapCO).
