Narender Reddy Speaks at Georgia Republican Convention
Friday, May 18th. Duluth, Georgia. At the invitation of the Georgia Republican Convention, well known Republican activist, Narender Reddy, spoke at the annual convention held at the Gwinnett Civic Center. Addressing Governor Sonny Perdue and other top brass of the Party, Reddy appraised to the gathering the strengths of the Indian American community. Citing flattering demographics and conservative values, he portrayed the community as an ideal group that the Party should court.
Lamenting the fact that "a huge majority of this community is aligned with Democrats," Reddy went on to cite the recent success of the Republican Party in winning over Indian Americans. Outlining a strategy for the Party, he said, "During the past decade, I raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various Republican candidates and President Bush's election campaigns. More than half of that money came from the pockets of my democrat friends. Most ethnic groups, by their culture, believe in being invited to join a group or party. Our party leadership should focus on developing plans to extend invitation to this fast growing affluent community. Our elected officials should participate and be more visible in their community's events."
The speech was received with frequent applause.
