Atlanta team wins in regional raas-garba competition
After months of intense training and rehearsals, under dedicated volunteer teachers and chorographers Hetal Patel and Jeepsi Patel, a garba (Gujarati folk dance) team from Georgia traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday June 10?
?and brought back home the 1st place trophy for their superbly performed garbo. Sponsored by Atlanta-based Horizon Bank, the competition was organized by FOGANA (Federation of Gujarat Associations of North America).
Jubilant spokesperson for the Atlanta team, Varshaben Patel, congratulated the following participants and wished them Good luck in the forthcoming national competition: Aekta Patel, Bianca Desai, Janki Patel, Jayna Patel, Keya Patel, Mili Chauhan, Paris Patel, Payal Shah, Priya Malhotra, Priya Patel, Priyanka Patel, Sabrina Patel, Shivani Bhakta, Shreya Shah, Sonam Patel and Tulsi Patel.
She further expressed her thanks to Bharat and Bina Desai for sponsoring air travel for all the participants competing in the national competition held in New York in September of this year.
