Heartfulness Organizes Green 5K Run
The Heartfulness Institute of Atlanta hosted its inaugural Heartfulness Green Run 5K Walk/Run on September 27 at Cauley Creek Park in Johns Creek. The event served as a fundraiser for the global initiative “Forests by Heartfulness,” with 100% of proceeds dedicated to tree plantation and afforestation efforts worldwide. To date, the nonprofit has planted over 3 million trees.

Drawing an enthusiastic crowd of 640 participants, the atmosphere was electric as runners, walkers, families, and community members united for a greener planet. Before the race, attendees participated in an energizing yoga session. The staging area buzzed with activity, thanks to nearly 75 dedicated Heartfulness volunteers who managed stalls, checkin counters, hydration stations, and food tents.
Heartfulness also partnered with local schools to create meaningful volunteer opportunities for students. A total of 53 student volunteers contributed 167 hours of service, fostering a spirit of giving back to both the community and the environment.
Heartfulness Run was well-attended by state officials and dignitaries.
Race Awards Trophies were awarded to 28 runners across various age categories, with top finishers in each group receiving honors.
Heartfulness Offerings Tent A special highlight was the Heartfulness Offerings tent, featuring books on spirituality and children’s stories written by the Guides of this meditation tradition. Certified meditation trainers were available throughout the event to answer questions and guide visitors through the practice, which is offered free of charge. Participants also received complimentary goodies, including handbags, saplings, and Heartfulness books.
