The Walk is Back
The tradition continues in Atlanta. Vibha and the India Club of GA Tech once again join together to host the 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk, Live Music and Kids carnival on Saturday, September 27th at the Georgia Tech Campus.
The overwhelming participation of the Atlanta community has helped the annual event to evolve from its inception in 1998 in Atlanta, into a national flagship fundraiser and awareness generation vehicle for Vibha (previously known as CRY Inc.) and its cause of helping underprivileged children in India. This year, the national Vibha Run/Walk event is expected to raise over $55,000 and attract over 5,000 people consisting of participants, volunteers and spectators in 4 major cities: Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, and San Francisco.
Locally, a part of the proceeds will go to Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children.
The 5K Walk/Run has proven to be more than just a fundraising event; it is a fun, family day filled with live music, carnival games, bungee run, face painting, clown, mehandi(henna), balloon art and more.
Online information about the event including registration and pledging donations is available at atlanta.vibha.org/vibhawalk.
