Zee Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa star sings in Atlanta's Kali Puja
Purbasha celebrated its third Kali Puja on November 2, 2013 in Meadowcreek High School. Turnout included guests from North Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama, along with Georgia folks. Decorations and the idol were put up in style. Puja began around 5pm and guests offered pushpanjali to Maa Kali. The atmosphere was charged with the sound of live drumming of dhak and dhol as well as chants, as devotees offered their unfeigned prayers to the mother goddess.
As part of the cultural program, Purbasha presented Bollywood night by Shreyasi Chakraborty, the singing superstar of Zee Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa in 2010. The lead sponsor was Raja Restaurant, and other sponsors and members donated generously to make the event a grand success.
