Twinkle Khanna’s book release party in Mumbai recently turned out to be a laugh riot as the actress-turned-writer, known for her quick wit as a columnist, took digs at her close friends Karan Johar (who anchored the event) and Aamir Khan, and even her husband, Akshay Kumar. Khanna’s debut, Mrs Funnybones: She’s Just Like You and a Lot Like Me, captures the life of the modern Indian woman with all its ironies.

It was a sad Janmashtami for Bollywood this year as talented music composer and singer Aadesh Srivastava succumbed to cancer on September 5. He had just turned 49 on September 4. Aadesh had been bravely battling the disease since it was first diagnosed in 2010. It relapsed for the third time in July this year and he spent the last 40 days of his life in hospital.

Ki and Ka! Yes, that’s the interesting title of filmmaker R. Balki’s new film, which is about a gender reversal of stereotypes. So you have Kareena Kapoor here who wears the pants in the house, quite literally! She plays a career-oriented corporate wife while Arjun Kapoor is the house-husband. A special appearance by Balki’s favourite, Amitabh Bachchan is another highlight of the movie. There is a buzz that Jaya Bachchan also has a cameo.
Balki has earlier given us such unconventional films as Cheeni Kum and Paa. So we do have reason to believe that Ki and Ka will be, well... different!

An official remake of the Hollywood film Warriors, Brothers is about two estranged siblings (half-brothers actually)––David (Akshay Kumar) and Monty Fernandes (Sidharth Malhotra). The final act of the film has the two men competing in a high profile mixed martial arts tournament where years of pent up anger lead to an expectedly cathartic climax.
