Farewell, Sulakshana Pandit, Asrani, & Satish Shah
A quiet and private sendoff was given to actresssinger Sulakshana Pandit who died of cardiac arrest on November 6. Unsung and forgotten, she was 71. Her uncle was the legendary vocalist Pandit Jasraj. Earlier, in October, Hindi cinema lost two of its most loved comedy stalwarts—Asrani and Satish Shah—within just a week.
Asrani, most remembered as the jailor in Sholay, passed away on Diwali day, October 20, while Satish Shah breathed his last on October 25. Satish was best known for his comic roles in films such as the cult classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and the television series Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai.
