Popular actor Navin Nischol’s sudden death on February 19 has left Bollywood shocked. Navin and a producer friend were going by road to Pune to spend a quiet Holi there, when suddenly Navin slumped and passed away. He was 65. Nagesh Kukunoor, who directed Navin in Bollywood Calling, remembers him as a thorough gentleman and an outstanding actor “who never got his due.” Rishi Kapoor, who directed the good-looking actor in Aa Ab Laut Chalen, said that he was an extremely cultured person and a great human being.
Navin made his debut in Bollywood with Rekha in the blockbuster Saawan Bhadon and was last seen in Kunal Kohli’s Imran Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer, Break Ke Baad.
