Legendary choreographer of Hindi cinema, Saroj Khan died of a cardiac arrest on July 3 at a Mumbai hospital, where she was admitted on June 17 following complaints of breathlessness. Fondly known as Masterji, 71-year-old Saroj ji was mourned by the film fraternity, among them many stars like Madhuri Dixit, who danced their way to success under her guidance.

With over 2000 songs to her credit, the three-time National Award winner Saroj Khan had choreographed some of the most popular songs in Bollywood, including Hawa Hawai from Mr. India, Ek Do Teen from Tezaab, and Dhak Dhak Karne Laga from Beta. The last number she choreographed was Tabah Ho Gaye picturised on her favorite dancing star Madhuri in Kalank.
