1.India’s Supreme Court ruled that women can take the entrance exam for the National Defense Academy, a four-year program that has groomed many of the country’s military commanders.
2. As part of a special drive to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71st birthday, Indian health workers administered a record 25 million Covid vaccinations on September 17.
3. Reliance Retail Ventures reached a franchise agreement to open 7-Eleven convenience stores in India, beginning in Mumbai.
4. Through an outreach program called iDrone, India has been using drones to deliver Covid vaccines to remote areas in the northeastern states.
5. The name “iDrone” was conceived after organizers heard a long speech by Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
