DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN?

Compiled/partly written by Melvin Durai Email Compiled/partly written by Melvin Durai
October 2013
DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN? 1. An onion sale in India by deal-of-the-day website Groupon was so popular it caused Groupon’s Indian website to crash.

2. A Nagpur youth who lost money that his parents had given him to buy a gas cylinder told police that he had murdered one of his friends, hoping to go to prison rather than be scolded by his parents.

3. Government statistics showed that couples in India adopted significantly more girls than boys last year through specialized adoption agencies.

4. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley inadvertently locked herself out of the Governor’s mansion in her robe while sending her kids off to school.

5. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal forgot to set his alarm and missed an early-morning meeting with several Cabinet members.

(1, 2, 3, and 4 really happened.)
