Good Sports: 24-HOUR ENERGY
Manoj Bhargava is known for his 5-Hour Energy drinks that turned him into a billionaire. But he doesn’t want to be remembered for just putting America on caffeine. The philanthropist has pledged to give away 99 percent of his fortune and is intent on bringing energy—the non-drinking kind—to households in India.
Bhargava plans to introduce a line of electricity- producing bicycles to help people in India. Each bicycle, after one hour of peddling, would provide up to 24 hours of electricity, powering 24 light bulbs, a fan, a phone charger and a tablet charger at the same time, Bhargava told Business Standard.
“Anybody can set up the electric bike, so they have electricity for the rest of their lives,” he said.
