Good Sports: FEARLESS ART
Bengaluru artist Shilo Shiv Suleman is behind a movement that’s using art to speak out against gender violence. She started The Fearless Collective in 2012 following the infamous Delhi rape case, mobilizing a group of artists, photographers, and others to create posters and murals depicting women being fearless and not shrinking away.
Suleman recently traveled to Pakistan to spread the message there. She led workshops and helped paint walls in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. Among the murals was one in Rawalpindi showing transgender rights activist Bubbli Malik riding a motorcycle. Above the painting is this message: “We are the creation of god.”
