Good Sports: IMPRESSIVE TEENAGER
Golfer Aditi Ashok is still a teenager—she turns 20 next month—but has already won three titles on the Ladies European Tour and achieved a top-ten finish in the LPGA.
Ashok’s third title came at the recent Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open in Abu Dhabi, where she beat England’s Georgia Hall by one stroke, finishing at 18 under par. She had a two-stroke lead going into the final round, but needed to par the final hole to edge Hall. “I was playing okay all day, but didn’t make as many birdie putts as I wanted to. I’m just glad I came out on top,” she said.
The Bangalore native, who won a first-prize check of £70,788 ($84,465), has now played in 33 European Tour events and recorded 11 Top Ten finishes.
