Good Sports: PUNJAB FORWARD JOINS NBA’S G LEAGUE

Princepal Singh, a 6-foot-10 forward from Punjab,has signed to play in the NBA G-League, the National Basketball Association’s official minor league, in 2020-21.
Singh, who will train and compete alongside a new G League team featuring elite youth prospects, is the first NBA Academy graduate to sign with the NBA G League and first NBA Academy India graduate to sign a professional contract.
In 2017, Singh joined the Delhi-based NBA Academy India, an elite basketball training center for top prospects from throughout India. In November 2018, he transitioned to the NBA Global Academy in Canberra, Australia, from where he graduated this spring.
“We are very proud of Princepal, who has worked extremely hard to earn this opportunity as he continues to be a trailblazer for the NBA Academy program and basketball in India,” said Troy Justice, head of international basketball development for the NBA.
