Indian batsman Virat Kohli scored 319 runs at the recent World Twenty20 tournament in Bangladesh and was unanimously selected as player of the tournament. He has a big swing, but also a big heart, using his celebrity to help educate underprivileged children in India.

He created The Virat Kohli Foundation last year and participated in a live charity auction last month to benefit Save The Children India, with the winning bidder receiving a gym session with Kohli.

“I can’t emphasize enough on the role education plays in a child’s development,” he told DNA. “I realize how lightly we take it, when we hail from financially stable and well-to-do families. Not only that, we take for granted that every child who goes to school has the same abilities as ourselves, which makes us completely ignorant to the struggles of children who are not as blessed as us in terms of physical and intellectual attributes.”
