Good Sports: Gold Medal Service

Soham Daga, 17, of Forest Hills, New York, was honored last month for his many hours of community service, presented with the Congressional Award Gold Medal, the highest award given to young people.

Inspired by his grandfather, a social worker in India, Soham has been volunteering in his community since he was a little boy. Among his recent contributions: sprucing up public parks, serving at senior centers, working at medical camps in India.

“I really enjoy it,” he told DNAinfo New York. “Every time you help someone out, you feel better inside as well.”
