Farmers in Mizoram are being paid two rupees for every rat they kill, part of a government program to reduce the rodent population. To collect the money, farmers must bring rat tails to the government offices. (AP)

A man used a peepal tree to climb a wall at Mumbai airport and almost entered a parked plane. Despite the security risk, the tree cannot be cut down because many people consider it sacred, an official said. (Mumbai Mirror)
