Picked as one of the three 2022 Georgia Presidential Scholars, Ayush Gundawar will be heading to University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign to study computer science. Gundawar, who is from South Forsyth, established LearnForsyth, a nonprofit that offers free, peer-to-peer tutoring. It has 850 active students, 200 volunteer tutors, and has completed 2,300 tutoring sessions in Georgia and other states. He has served as a state ambassador for Georgia Future Business Leaders of America, a Forsyth County Youth Commissioner, and a CTAE Ambassador. There are 161 scholars this year, with at least two scholars from each state. Evaluation was based on academic achievement, test scores, essays, leader and service activities, and personal characteristics. The honor includes an all-expenses-paid trip to the White House.
