Dr. B. K. Mohan appointed to Georgia Composite Medical Board
Cardiologist B. Krishna Mohan, M.D., F.A.C.C. of Jonesboro has been appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the Georgia Composite Medical Board, an agency with responsibilities for over 41,000 professionals licensed in the state of Georgia. These groups include physicians, physician assistants, resident physicians, respiratory care professionals, perfusionists, orthotists, prosthetists, and acupuncturists. The Medical Board investigates complaints and disciplines those who violate the Medical Practice Act or other laws governing the professional behavior of its licensees.
Dr. Mohan is the founding partner of Southern Heart Specialists, the oldest cardiovascular group in the south metro Atlanta area, serving the community for 35 years. Hailing from National College and Gulbarga Medical College in India, he spent several years in New Jersey before moving to Atlanta. Here he has served on the Clayton County Health Education Board, as chairman of the Indian Professional Association, as commissioner of the Asian-American Commission for a New Georgia, and as a founding trustee of the Hindu Temple of Atlanta.
For his many contributions to the medical profession and to his community, he has received various recognitions, including TAMA’s lifetime achievement award.
