In Ice and Snow, Sam Budhani Serves Community

Sam Budhani, owner of Leon’s Food Mart in Forsyth, was commended in the Forsyth News and by Cindy Jones Mills of the Forsyth Board of Commissioners for his actions in serving the community during the winter snow and ice storms. Although many stores could not open, Sam and 75% of his staff were able to get there even on the two worst days. “We’re a 35-year tradition, and we make sure we’re always open,” he said. Neighborhood residents arrived mostly on foot, although some came in ATVs or even on horseback, and all appreciated that the dedicated shop owner had “bread, eggs, milk, everything” for them.
