Ketul Patel named CEO of Wellstar Health System
Ketul Patel, who is a nationally recognized healthcare leader, has been appointed the next president and CEO of Wellstar Health System. Currently CEO of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and president of CommonSpirit Health’s Pacific Northwest division, Patel brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to Georgia. He is known for spearheading hospital system mergers, championing patient safety, and expanding access to care across the country. Patel has been named multiple times to Modern Healthcare’s list of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare,” recognized as a top diversity leader, and recently elected chair of the Washington State Hospital Association. He also serves on several national healthcare boards. Patel earned his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and holds dual master’s degrees in health and business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
