Neel Bansal wins Macy's Spelling Bee

Neel Bansal wins Macy's Spelling Bee Neel Bansal, winner of Macy's 2012 Spelling Bee, with judge Tracye Hutchins.

After participating in the Mount Vernon Middle School Spelling Bee, Neel Bansal went on to win the Macy's 7th annual spelling bee held at Lenox Mall, Atlanta on Aug. 25, 2012. Fifty contestants spelled away, and after 7 rounds, 11-year-old Neel, now in 6th grade at Woodward Academy in College Park, was the winner! Tracye Hutchins, host of Better Mornings Atlanta on CBS Atlanta, judged the event. Neel won an iPad 3 and one year scholarship from Kaplan Learning Centers.
