Chandni Pari Jain, a sophomore at Peachtree Ridge High School, has been honored as Positive Athlete Georgia’s Girls Golf winner. She is the first Asian-American female athlete from Gwinnett County to received this honor. Pari also received the Stars and Strikes Gamer Award and Scholarship. The award ceremony was held at the College Football Hall of Fame on June 4, 2019, where awards were presented by former Super Bowl champion and Positive Athlete spokesperson, Hines Ward.

Positive Athlete Georgia was founded by ex-UGA Football star and Super Bowl XL MVP Hines Ward to award college scholarships to high school athletes. Nominees selected are athletes who have “overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their schools and communities, or just have an infectious positive attitude.” Only 45 students were chosen as Georgia Positive Athletes out of 5,400 nominees.

Pari is the founder of the Miss Incredible Pageant at her school, an event that she conceptualized and organized to recognize and honor the accomplishments of girl students with disabilities. She is currently the president of her school DECA board, a member of the math club, and a leader in her school’s leadership team and Buddy Bunch—a club to support kids with disabilities. She has spent time in swimming, tennis, golf, and ten years of Indian classical dance, Kathak with NNKB. She was also first chair tenor saxophone in her school band. She placed second in the science fair in microbiology for the state, she made it to the Governors Honor Program for science as a sophomore, and maintained her GPA at or above 4.0.

Pari was also named to the Board of the Georgia High School Association for the year 2019-20. GHSA has 483 public and private high schools as its members. A total of 20 board members are selected every year across various schools. Ms. Jain will be representing all “7A” schools. This board was formed in 1904 and includes athletic and academic achievers all across GA schools. Pari is the first board member of Indian origin.
