Sarv Dharavane of Dunwoody wins third place at National Spelling Bee

Sarv Dharavane, at age 11, clinched third place at the 100th Scripps National Spelling Bee. A fifth grader at Austin Elementary School in DeKalb County, Sarv was the youngest finalist in this year’s Spelling Bee and the first Georgia student in more than two decades to make it to the championship round. Besides his back-to-back wins at the Georgia Association of Educators State Spelling Bee, Sarv had been tied for 22nd place in his first appearance at the National Spelling Bee in 2024. He lives in Dunwoody, GA.
