Ravs' Big Day on Feb 22

Raveena Tandon is all set to play a new role, that of a wife. The ecstatic bride-to-be will tie the knot with fianc Anil Thadani on February 22 at Udaipur in Rajasthan after which the couple will proceed to Guwahati to visit a religious shrine. But you're wrong if you think that's the end of Ravs' film career. The actress clarifies she's just taken a two month break till the wedding "after which I have my hands full with work. I'll quit only when either I get bored or have a baby!"

Meanwhile, Raveena's good friend John Abraham can't stop smiling these days. His ladylove Bipasha Basu's sensual moves with him in Pooja Bhatt's Jism figure in the list of "100 Greatest Sexy Moments" compiled by UK's Channel 4 television. The Bengali bombshell of course is thrilled. "I consider it a huge compliment," she grins.

Hussain now ?fida' over Urmila

After being ?fida' over Madhuri Dixit and then Tabu, celebrated artist Maqbool Fida Hussain is now enchanted by Urmila Matondkar. "I am mesmerised by her fluent body movements. It's amazing the way she moves," he gushes. It's no wonder then that Hussain has cast Urmi in his third as yet untitled film which is supposed to be a laugh riot. What's more, there'll be three Urmilas in it! Yes, the actress has a meaty triple role in the comedy.

Incidentally, Urmila is taking her Pinjar role rather seriously and has become the latest harbinger of peace between India and Pakistan. She had a blast in Lahore and Wagah recently fraternising with her colleagues and friends from across the border. "It feels wonderful to extend a hand across the barbed fence and get a warm response." Urmila was in Pakistan to shoot a music video Deewane along with her Pakistani counterpart Resham. This is the first of its kind collaborative cultural effort as part of a UNDP-sponsored documentary series titled Moving Closer.

Madhuri Dixit's

homecoming

Madhuri Dixit may have been out of sight all these months, but she certainly has not been out of anyone's mind! As Main Bhi Madhuri recently proved ? no that's not the title of a movie as one would imagine. It was a contest of Madhuri Dixit look-alikes that was held in Mumbai recently, which the diva herself judged. Said the gorgeous Mrs Nene: "It feels great to be the source of inspiration for so many girls but I would advise you all to develop your own individual style to make it big in films." Madhuri is in Mumbai these days along with her baby boy Arin to spend time with family and friends. And of course, to go through scripts for future projects. There are strong rumours that the beautiful new mama has been roped in by Rituparno Ghosh for his second Hindi film. She is reportedly very excited about her role in it. Zoya Akhtar and Raj Kumar Santoshi are said to be next in line. What a homecoming for the former queen bee of Hindi cinema!

The queen gets

her throne

It wasn't too long back that Aishwarya Rai had been projected as the queen of Bollywood by Time magazine. It's only appropriate then that she has finally bagged the Sinhasan (throne)! Well, that's actually the name of Kalpana Lajmi's new film in which the leading lady will be seen in the avatar of a politician. Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor and Manisha Koirala were all in the running for the coveted role which Ash is now doing.

Incidentally, Ash is reportedly moving westwards ho as she has allocated the period from March to December 2004 for Hollywood projects. With two agents on the job, she hopes to bag some plum assignments in the West.

While on Ash, how can we not think of Vivek Oberoi? Apparently, a gori mem has been selected for the guy. But Ash need not worry, it's all very professional. You see, Subhash Ghai after a hectic search has finally found a British girl to star opposite Vivek in his forthcoming movie Kisna!
