Salman discovers

Ash look-alike

Salman Khan may flaunt Katrina Kaif as the new woman in his life but the fact is that his obsession with Aishwarya Rai continues. Sample this: the industry is buzzing with stories of his new film Lucky. Apparently, the film stars an 18-year-old newcomer Sneha who has been cast opposite Salman. She is supposed to be his find. So what's the big deal, you might ask. Well, Sneha is reportedly a splitting image of Ms Rai. "It's uncanny, she looks like a younger version of Ash!" says an insider.

Incidentally, Aishwarya has been voted the world's most beautiful woman of 2003 in a poll conducted by Hello! magazine. The green-eyed beauty edged out Hollywood beauties like Catherine Zeta Jones and Nicole Kidman. So at 30, the world's still Aishwarya Rai's oyster! There are also strong rumors that the actress may reportedly be back in The Rising. Apparently, the financiers of the movie don't find Amisha Patel a viable option and are supposed to have asked Ash to forget the past and do the film.

Preity to pen

her thoughts

After wowing everyone with her sensitive performance as Catherine Kapur in Kal Ho Naa Ho, Preity Zinta is all set to don a new mantle ? that of a writer! After much persuasion, BBB.com has got Preity to agree to a monthly column on life and cinema. Not surprising really since the dimpled charmer is known to be quick with her thoughts and words. Her co-stars would vouch for that!

Anyway Preity, that's quite something, considering Shabana Azmi is the only actress till now to have done any serious journalistic writing. And we all know that Ms Azmi belongs to a different sensibility. Naturally the perfectionist in Preity is ready to take on the challenge. "For me, this column is an opportunity to address any issue, but it all depends on how I manage the time for it. I'm all charged up but nervous as well," says the actress who is the new darling of Hindi cinema after the stupendous success of Koi Mil Gaya and KHNH.

Kareena to star

in Pak film

Kareena Kapoor might be averse to acting in Hollywood films at the moment? she was recently quoted as saying so ? but she has no such qualms about starring in movies across the border (read Lollywood). Pakistan's well known film director/actor Javed Sheikh is planning an Indo-Pakistani project titled Sannata (Silence) for which Bebo dear has reportedly given the nod. Pakistani actor Momi Rana will be Kareena's leading man. Sheikh said that he was also keen to rope in Bollywood's talented choreographers and singers for his cinematic ventures.

Meanwhile, one of Pakistan's most popular actresses Meera, is also to star in an Indian film. "This is my first step towards promoting Indo-Pak peace and I hope other actresses will follow," she said. The attractive star will play the central role in the yet untitled Hindi thriller about a blind woman who after an eye transplant acquires the bizarre ability to see murders in a red light area before they are committed. Mahesh Bhatt will co-produce the movie with Pakistan-born British producer Sevy Ali.
