The Diabetes Prevention Program is a 12 month lifestyle change program offered in a supportive, small group setting. Over the course of the year, participants develop the tools necessary for establishing healthier eating habits and increasing physical activity in order to reduce their risk of type 2 diabetes. This is a behavior modification program that requires a personal commitment.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides recognition and validation of high-quality preventive behavioral health interventions intended for prediabetic Americans via the a Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program (DPRP). Our clinic, in Decatur Georgia, achieved this CDC Preliminary Recognition status under the recently released 2019 DPRP standards and is the only organization in Dekalb Co. to achive this recognition! We are currently enrolling new participants in this life saving program.
