“Give OK Please” Fundraiser at Chai Pani Decatur

What: Chai Pani is hosting a special dinner titled “Give OK Please” that will benefit the Meher Free Dispensary, a free medical clinic run in rural India. Kicking off at 6:30, this ticketed event will feature sous chef Daniel Peach preparing a four course, authentic Maharastrian dinner including alcohol pairings.

From sous chef Peach:

“The meal will consist of two special appetizers from Maharastra's biggest cities: Mumbai and Pune. Mumbai's dish will be a special Bombay Bhel Puri.  From Pune, we will highlight Misal Pav, which is a spicy curry and toasted bun street food. The main course will highlight the rural, arid center of Maharastra through a traditional thali with rice, flatbread, vegetables, daal, and main dish. Dessert will be a traditional Maharastrian semolina pudding with saffron and cardamom.”

Why: The Meher Free Dispensary provides free medical care to an underserved population, treating as many as 200 patients per day.  Patients often come from more than 75 kilometers away for care.  The average patient costs the dispensary only $4.50, so a small donation can go a long way.

When:  Monday, December 9, 6:30 p.m.

Where: Chai Pani Decatur, located at 406 W. Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030

How Much: $45 per ticket, which can be purchased here, and 85% of proceeds will benefit Meher Free Dispensary
