The American Jewish Committee’s Access and Project Understanding joins the Alliance Theatre in inviting you to meet Ayad Akhtar, the playwright of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, "Disgraced." Director Susan V. Booth and Mr. Akhtar will engage in a discussion offering insight into the ideas behind the play before it hits the Alliance Stage on January 27. A modern thriller, included in The New York Times Best of 2014 list for theater, it was described as “potent…terrific, turbulent, with fresh currents of dramatic electricity… superb.” As the most produced play in regional theater this season, it has received impassioned audience response for its bold exploration of identity and culture in the complex landscape of 21st century America.
