TiE Atlanta: Junior Achievement Volunteer Day
Junior Achievement BizTown & Finance Park Volunteer Day.
TiE Atlanta is beginning a partnership with JA, due to a great alignment in our missions related to youth entrepreneurship. Look forward to lots of fun, good learning and an opportunity to network and meet your fellow members in a meaningful way. Thank you to CM Sue Boehlke for leading this partnership!
As a Store Volunteer, you will guide middle school students through either the JA BizTown or JA Finance Park programs:
JA BizTown creates an opportunity for students to interact within a simulated economy and take on the role of employee, tax payer and consumer. During the visit to JA BizTown students receive job assignments and work in teams of 5-7 at their assigned business to try and generate a profit. Volunteers serve as business consultants for the day, coaching a group students through the decisions and tasks they need to complete.
JA Finance Park allows students to experience their personal financial futures first-hand. Upon entering the center, students receive a ‘life situation’ with job, income, education, and family scenarios. Based on their adult persona, students visit businesses in the simulation to gather information about different financial decisions in order to complete a balanced household budget. Volunteers serve as personal financial advisors for the day, coaching students through the decisions they need to make.
