Atlantans included in National Academy of Inventors Fellows
April 2021 - The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) elected 175 prolific academic innovators from across the world to NAI Fellow status. Among the 21 Indian-American Fellows on the list are Nikil Jayant of Georgia Tech, and Rahul Shrivastav of University of Georgia.

Krish Wadhwani selected as Carson Scholar
April 2021 - Krish Wadhwani, a junior at Denmark High School in Forsyth County, has been selected as a Carson Scholar. Krish will receive a $1000 scholarship provided by the Carson Scholars Fund, a nonprofit founded by pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson and his wife, Candy.

Ravi Bellamkonda returns to Emory as provost and executive vice president
April 2021 - A biomedical scientist and former Emory professor, Dr. Ravi Bellamkonda is set to join as Emory’s next provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. He’s returning to Emory after serving as dean of the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University for the past five years.

Nitheyaa Shree Ramesh among 2021 Marshall Scholars
March 2021 - Nitheyaa Shree Ramesh is among the three Indian-American university students to be named 2021 Marshall Scholars by the British Government and Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission. As the only Marshall Scholar from Georgia, Ramesh, of Georgia State University, plans to do graduate studies at the University of Bristol.

Sanjay Sehgal among Atlanta magazine’s “Atlanta 500”
March 2021 - Sanjay Sehgal is included in Atlanta magazine’s list of the 500 most powerful leaders in 2021. He’s the founder and CEO of the MSys Group, which includes MSys Technologies, MSys Training and Mobinius.

Kruthik Ravikanti is Prudential Spirit of Community honoree
March 2021 - Kruthik Ravikanti, a senior at Alpharetta High School, has been picked as one of the Prudential Spirit of Community State honorees this year. He cofounded a nonprofit organization to help other young people start, fund, and execute their own service projects.

Ashok Goel of Georgia Tech among AAAI Fellows
March 2021 - Ashok Goel of Georgia Tech has been named among 10 new Fellows of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). A professor of computer science and human-centered computing at Georgia Tech, in the past he has been co-director for the Center for Biologically Inspired Design, and director for the Ph.D. program in Human-Centered Computing.

Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award for Dr. Jonnalagadda
February 2021 - Dr. Sudhakar Jonnalagadda, president of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), received the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award last month from the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations.
