Sucheta Rawal to participate in international conference in Italy
In just over a year Sucheta Rawal’s nonprofit Go Eat Give has gone from humble beginnings to mention on the Clark Howard show, an October feature in Georgia Trend magazine, and being named as “one of the most influential blogs on culture” by the Republic of Florence, Italy.
And now Rawal will be flown to Florence as one of seven bloggers chosen from around the world by Fondazione Florens to participate as the official Team Florens, in Cultural and Environmental Heritage Week, November 3-11. Over 200,000 are expected to attend this international biennial that explores how cultural identity and production can generate the economy.
Rawal wrote an attention-getting blog post in which her childhood in India provides the starting point for a factual reflection on food waste habits. Her website offers inspirational stories, destination reviews, and international recipes.
Her nonprofit also sponsors local cultural events and international volunteer tours. Go Eat Give is dedicated to promoting worldwide understanding and cultural appreciation through community service and shared culture, especially ethnic cuisines. She organizes cooking classes, volunteer vacations, and monthly local social gatherings featuring the culture and cuisines of international destinations, such as Afghanistan last month and India this month.
